So far we have shot and edited 10 episodes for “The 5 Star Design Show”.  For each episode we also produce a Blooper Reel, which are very funny.  Yvette and Tony are always cutting up, and messing their lines up as well!

The video below is probably my favorite.  During the shooting of this episode, Yvette happened to have a slight cold.  As the Producer for this show, I didn’t want her to be sniffing and blowing her nose all the time, creating havoc for the camera,  so we decided that she needed to take some cold medicine before the shoot.  Well…  throughout this hilarious blooper reel you’ll see the results when Yvette and cold medicine mix together.

Get ready to learn cool things about outdoor spaces!  We’re starting a new online video series titled “The 5 Star Experience”.  Each video will cover a specific topic such as plants, hardscape, pools, arbors, etc., and even fun stuff as well.  You won’t want to miss any of these videos because you just never know what you might learn!

Our first video about landscaping is hosted by our Lead Designer, Mary Trowbridge, who has a degree in Horticulture.  In the video she talks about how you can use plants and trees to hide unwanted views, the different colors, patterns and textures of plants, and the importance of having a Horticultorist on-site.

This year’s Fall Home & Patio Show at the Prime Osborn Convention Center was a huge success!  We must’ve chatted with hundreds of people interested in transforming their ordinary backyards into incredible landscaping spaces!  These days, people really are staying home and thinking about upgrading both the inside and outside of their homes.

We passed out over 1200 DVDs that we had made specifically for the Home & Patio Show.  The DVD has three separate parts including (1) an introduction by Tony Evans, the owner of 5 Star Design.  He explains what his company is all about and the benefits of having a landscape design plan, (2) incredible Before & After video shots of ten different landscape projects, narrated by Tony Evans, and finally (3) six entire episodes of our new TV show “The 5 Star Design Show” hosted by Tony Evans and Yvette Taff.

Check out Jacksonville’s newest landscape TV show called “The 5 Star Design Show”, airing every Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. on Comcast Cable Channel 7.  During this half-hour TV show, host Tony Evans and co-host Yvette Taff will take you from an ordinary “blank slate” boring backyard, through the design process, all the way to the exciting project reveal.  You will simply be amazed when you watch each backyard transformation!

Initial meeting – During the initial meeting we create a “wish list” for your property. The analysis – This is crucial. How can anyone design something specifically for your site without spending time there and getting to know your site? We schedule a time to visit your site photograph it and perform a thorough analysis. Each site is different, that is why no two of our designs are the same.

Preliminary Plan – We will meet with you and discuss the concept and preliminary plan to make sure that we are on the right track.

Final Plan – Next we make any necessary changes and draw a final master plan. The master plan will detail the whole design, showing the layout of all the elements (patios, swimming pool, spa, seating areas etc…) everything will be clearly labeled showing what type of material is called for, what type of plants to use and how many. You can be assured that the design of the whole property will be unified and work together to create great outdoor spaces. There is no substitute for good planning.
